Flora and Fauna Of Tibet

Tibet is very rich in wild animals and plants. There are over 5800 species of high plants and around 800 species of wild animals. The main plant includes giant cypress, mulberry, picea smithiana, Asiatic longegleaved pine, Larix Himalaica, Cyathcaceae and many more. Cypress is known as the most famous plant in Tibet which is 2500 years old and is regarded as the sacred tree in Tibet.

Tibet houses the rare animal like Tibetan mastiff, yak, Tibetan antelope, snow leopard, kiang, lynx, brown bear, argali, golden monkey, Himalayan tahr, gazelle, red deer, goral, Hanuman Langur, Bengal tiger, snow cock, barhead goose etc.

Tibet is home to a huge and diverse range of bird species, all of which hold their own unique attributes and looks. Tibet treasures the species of birds like Ruddy Shell Duck (Tadorna Ferrugenia), Tibetan Eared Pheasant, Tibetan Snowcock, Himalayan vulture, Black-necked Crane and Brown Headed Gull.
