Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Tour via EBC is overland package tour which starts with a drive from Kathmandu to Kerung and reaches the Mansarovar passing through Dongba. The tour encompasses the popular town like Darchen, Dirapuk, Zutulpuk, Tingri with the spectacular view of Everest Base Camp and Rongbuk. Then finally terminates after reaching to Kathmandu from Kerung.
Mount Kailash known in Tibet as Kang Rinpoche or “Precious Jewel of Snow” is the most sacred peak in Tibet. It is located in far western Tibet’s Ngari prefecture, more than 1200 kilometers from Lhasa. At an elevation of 6,656 meters above sea level, snow-capped Kailash gives life to 4 grand rivers: Shiquan River, meaning Lion Fountain, known as Indus in the lower reaches; Maquan River, meaning Horse Fountain, the origin of Yarlung Tsangpo River; Xiangquan River, meaning Elephant Fountain, known as Sutlej in the lower reaches; Konhqu Rier, meaning Peacock Fountain, the origin of Ganges River. There is no other peak in Tibet that is as holy as Kailash, every year thousands of Buddhist and Hindus do the 52 kilometer pilgrimage circuit around the mountain. Lake Manasarovar or Mapaham Tum Tso in Tibetan is Tibet’s most scared lake. It is among the world’s highest fresh-water lakes at an elevation of 4,583 meters and covers 412 square kilometers. The lake is located in the Burang County, 20 km southeast of the Mount Kailash. It is believed that bathing with the water of Manasarovar will drive off avaricious desires, troubled thoughts and past sins; drinking the water will keep healthy and away from disease; while circling the lake will bring boundless beneficence to the pilgrims. Throughout the year, numerous pilgrims and visitors are attracted to the holy Mt. Kailash and the Lake Manasarovar.

The tour encompasses the popular town like Darchen, Dirapuk, Zutulpuk, Tingri with the spectacular view of Everest Base Camp and Rongbuk.
Detailed Itinerary:
Day 01: Kathmandu (1300m)-Kerung Border
Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Tour via EBC starts with a drive to Kerung Border (Nepal-Tibet Border) through the beautiful Nepali countryside enjoying the rivers, hills and landscapes. After completing necessary border formalities at Nepali immigration move forward to an hour adventurous uphill by Bus or Jeep or walk for two hours. Then continue our drive to Kerung. Overall we cover the distance of 145 km. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02: Acclimatization at Kerung (Gyriong)
Full day rest at Kerung for the acclimatization for the next day high altitude drive. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 03: Kerung to Dongba (4,500m) via Lalungla La pass (5,050m) distance 365 km time 5-6 hours
After breakfast, we proceed from Kerung to Dongba takes around 5 -6 hours driving which is about 220 Km. On the way we cross Lalungla-Pass (5040m). Our trail leads us continuously on the Silk Road and crossing beautiful Tibetan Himalayan Mt. Shisha Pangma on the south. After crossing beautiful Pey Gutso Lake and holy Brahmaputra River, we will reach Saga. After saga, takes about 2 hours further drive to Dongba (110km). Overnight at guest house.
Day 04: Dongba to Mansarovar Lake (4,580m) distance 370 km time 6-7 hours
On the fourth day of Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Tour via EBC, after breakfast, we proceed from Dongpa to Manasarovar around 6-7 hours drive, crossing about 370 Km. Drive to Chui Gompa via the circumbulation of Lake Manasarovar. Yatris get an excellent opportunity to bath on the holy Lake Manasarovar. Overnight at guest house.
Day 05: Mansarovar to Darchen (4,600m) distance 40 km time 2 hours
Morning time is free for holy dip and Pooja. After Lunch, we drive from Manasarovar to Darchen and a short rest at Darchen, drive to Serlung Gompa by Jeep to have divine view of Astapada, Nandi Parbat, Kailashi Ganga, Kuber Parbat, Astamatrikagan Parbat and Dakshinmurti Shivalaya. Overnight at guest House.
Day 06: Darchen to Dirapuk (4,890m) distance 20 km time 6 hours
We drive to Yamadwar (Gate of heaven) then start walk to Dirapuk (4890 meters – 11 kilometers). Pony & local porter can be hired for 3 days with the pre-information as the Kailash Parikrama becomes easier with pony and porter. It is better to start early as it is long walk of 5-6 hours. Yak loads our stuffs. We observe the spectacular view of north face of Mount Kailash from Dirapuk. Overnight at lodge.
Day 07: Dirapuk to Zutulpuk (4,790m) distance 22 km time 7-8 hours
Today is a crucial day of the trip as we pass Dolma-La or Dormal Pass situated at an altitude of 5636m above the sea level. Weather of the place is very unpredictable and snowstorm can fall any time so we begin our journey as early as possible. We march forward being very cautious as the way is quiet slippery. From Dirapuk, we ascend to Dorma La pass and then descend to Shapje Datok & continue easy trail till Zutulpuk monastery. Overnight at lodge.
Day 08: Zutulpuk to Mansarovar Lake
Enjoying the Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Tour via EBC, after having our breakfast, we descend to Chongdo for about 3 hour. Then, we drive to Darchen and stop for lunch. From there, we drive to Mansarovar Lake and enjoy the full moon night. Overnight in lodge.
Day 09: Mansarovar Lake to Tingri (4,350m)
Today we ride a long and exotic drive towards Tingri from Mansarovar. Driving today to Tingri is spectacular. Wide desert plains of the Tibetan Plateau, great view of Shishapangma Himalayas are much more pleasant. We also get first view of Everest, its black pyramid towering above the highway. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10: Tingri to Rongbuk (5,000m) via Everest Base Camp distance 70 km time 2-3 hours
On the tenth day of Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Tour via EBC, we start our trek to the Everest Base Camp (5,200m) where we are 15km from this magnificent mountain (Mt Everest; 8848m high; known as Chomolangma to the Tibetans, and translated to Qomolangma by the Chinese. In Nepal, it is Sagarmatha.) We enjoy the breathtaking view of the world tallest mountain Everest and its surroundings. Then drive towards the Rongbuk (5,000m). Overnight at hotel.
Day 11: Rongbuk to Kerung (2700m)
After breakfast we continue our drive to kerung covering the distance of 235 km for about 6-7 hours enjoying the beautiful scenery. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12: Kerung to Kathmandu (1,300m)
Your Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Tour via EBC terminates today so after breakfast drive towards Kathmandu. The distance from Kathmandu to Rasuwa Bridge of Gyirong (Kerung) Port, the China-Nepal border, is about 160 km and will take about 6 hours. We enjoy the striking drive viewing the landscapes of both Tibet and Nepal till reaching the Kathmandu.
