Lake Manasarovar or Mapaham Tum Tso in Tibetan is Tibet’s most scared lake. It is among the world’s highest fresh-water lakes at an elevation of 4,583 meters and covers 412 square kilometers. The lake is located in the Burang County, 20 km southeast of the Mount Kailash. It is believed that bathing with the water of Manasarovar will drive off avaricious desires, troubled thoughts and past sins; drinking the water will keep healthy and away from disease; while circling the lake will bring boundless beneficence to the pilgrims.

Detailed Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrive in Lhasa (3,650)
Mount Kailash Tour via Lhasa starts after arrival in Lhasa where you meet our representative who drives you at the hotel in Lhasa. Acclimatize at Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Lhasa
Today we visit the famous place of Lhasa like Potala Palace, Norbulinka Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street. The heart of Lhasa Potala Palace situated in the Red Hill by the side of Lhasa River is a treasure house where you can view precious arts and learn Tibetan arts, crafts and delicious cuisines. Norbulinka Palace located on the west of Lhasa is a short distance to the southwest of Potala Palace and is regarded as the summer palace of Dalai Lama and it’s well preserved murals, superb mandalas and frescoes are fascinating sights not to be missed. It is the largest garden, with best scenery and the most historical site in Tibet. The Jokhnag Temple is located in the central of Lhasa and is the ultimate pilgrimage destination for Tibetan Pilgrims. It is four-storey timer complex with a golden top. The Jokhang temple is surrounded by the Barkhor Street which comprises a series of circular streets that encompass numerous merchants and vendors offering a wide variety of Local Tibetan arts, crafts and delicious foods. Day 03: Lhasa to Shigatse (3900m) distance 350 km time 8-9 hours
On third day of Mount Kailash Tour via Lhasa, we drive for Shigatse (3900m) which is the second largest city in Tibet after Lhasa. The Tashilampo Monastery is the important monastery in Tibet built by first Dalai Lama in 1447 and is known as the seat of the Panchan Lama. We cover the distance of 350 km with a long drive for about 8 to 9 hours till we reach Shigatse. Overnight at hotel.
Day 04: Shigatse to Saga (4,640m) distance 450 km time 9 hours
Early morning after breakfast we drive for the Saga (4,640m) which is an important stop-off point for pilgrims and tourists on the way to visiting Mount Kailash being the last town on the southern route with supplies for travelers, having both a store and a restaurant and several guest houses and hotels. Today we drive for comparatively long time covering the distance of 450 km for about 9 hours. Overnight at hotel.
Day 05: Saga to Lake Manasarovar (4,750m) distance 410 km time 8 hours
We drive towards Lake Mansarovar covering the distance of 410 km for about 8 hours. Today is the most auspicious day for all of us as we will see the first glimpse of holy Kailash and sacred Lake Mansarovar. A lifetime achievement, here we will perform a holy dip, Relax and explore around the Mansarovar area. Overnight in lodge.
Day 06: Mansarovar to Darchen (4,600m) distance 40 km time 2 hours
Morning time is free for holy dip and Pooja. After Lunch, we drive from Manasarovar to Darchen and a short rest at Darchen, drive to Serlung Gompa by Jeep to have divine view of Astapada, Nandi Parbat, Kailashi Ganga, Kuber Parbat, Astamatrikagan Parbat and Dakshinmurti Shivalaya. Overnight at guest House.
Day 07: Darchen to Dirapuk (4,890m) distance 20 km time 6 hours
Enjoying the Mount Kailash Tour via Lhasa today, we drive to Yamadwar (Gate of heaven) then start walk to Dirapuk (4890 meters – 11 kilometers). Pony & local porter can be hired for 3 days with the pre-information as the Kailash Parikrama becomes easier with pony and porter. It is better to start early as it is long walk of 5-6 hours. Yak loads our stuffs. We observe the spectacular view of north face of Mount Kailash from Dirapuk. Overnight at lodge.
Day 08: Dirapuk to Zutulpuk (4,790m) distance 22 km time 7-8 hours
Today is a crucial day of the trip as we pass Dolma-La or Dormal Pass situated at an altitude of 5636m above the sea level. Weather of the place is very unpredictable and snowstorm can fall any time so we begin our journey as early as possible. We march forward being very cautious as the way is quiet slippery. From Dirapuk, we ascend to Dorma La pass and then descend to Shapje Datok & continue easy trail till Zutulpuk monastery. Overnight at lodge.
Day 09: Zutulpuk to Saga
On the ninth day of Mount Kailash Tour via Lhasa, early in the morning, after having our breakfast, we descend to Chongdo for about 3 hour. Then, we drive to Darchen and stop for lunch. From there, we drive to Saga. Overnight in lodge.
Day 10: Saga to Shigatse
Today after a long drive of about 9 hours covering the 450 kilometers we reach back to Shigatse enjoying the scenic beauty and landscape of Tibet. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 11: Shigatse to Lhasa via Yamdrok Lake
After breakfast we drive back to the Lhasa via Yamdrok Lake. Yamdrok Lake is one of the three largest sacred lakes in Tibet. The lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains and is fed by numerous small streams. It has attractive turquoise blue water and during winter, migratory birds come back and make a beautiful natural picture. After the detection of Yamdrok Lake we drive back for the Lhasa. Overnight at Lhasa.
Day 12: Departure
Your Mount Kailash Tour via Lhasa terminates today so after breakfast, drive to Gonggar Airport for your onward flight.
