A sacred home to Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake, Tibet is a world famous pilgrimage destination for all the Hindu, the Buddhist, the Jain and the Bon devotees. The 6714 meters elevated Peak is the center of beauty with the diverse landscape, and peaceful surrounding. It is believed to be the meditating and the dwelling of the founders of these religions. Buddhist all over the world worship the snow capped Great Mountain as the “Center of the Universe” and entire spiritual power is believed to have been concentrated within this particular region. Lake Manasarovar or Mapaham Tum Tso in Tibetan is Tibet’s most scared lake. It is among the world’s highest fresh-water lakes at an elevation of 4,583 meters and covers 412 square kilometers. The lake is located in the Burang County, 20 km southeast of the Mount Kailash. It is believed that bathing with the water of Manasarovar will drive off avaricious desires, troubled thoughts and past sins; drinking the water will keep healthy and away from disease; while circling the lake will bring boundless beneficence to the pilgrims.

Detailed Itinerary:
Day 01: Kathmandu (1,300m)-Syabrubesi (1,460m)
Mt. Kailash With Guge Kingdom Via Kerung Border starts with a drive towards North West of Kathmandu through nice and lovely towns and villages with excellent scenery of hills, farm terraces and snowcapped peaks reaching around warm sub tropic areas, slowly drive climbs towards cooler region at Langtang National Park entrance in Dhunche of 1,950 m high, a major and headquarter town of Rasuwa district and of Langtang area, populated with mostly Tamang ethnic tribes. Then on downhill road for few hours to Syabrubesi village. Overnight at Syabrubesi.
Day 02: Drive to Kerung County (3,950m)
Today we drive for the Kyriong through the Rasuwagadhi covering the distance of 105 kilometers completing immigration and custom formalities on the both sides of Nepal and Tibet at Rashuwagadhi. Overnight at Kyriong.
Day 03: Acclimatization at Kerung
On the third day of Mt. Kailash With Guge Kingdom Via Kerung Border, rest at Kyriong for the acclimatization. At afternoon we carry out city excursion. Kyirong is a famous religious and historical place home of 11th Centaury great saint and Guru Milarepa known for his tantric wisdom as well a poet and folk singer, his song are still remembered by local herdsman and villagers. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 04: Kerung to Saga (4400m) 5 hours
After a nice pleasant rest and wonderful stop at Kyirong morning continue drive on world highest and largest Tibetan plateau into inner Tibet wild windswept high and dry landscapes, as the drive joins on the road coming from Nylam / Zhangmu near Paikutsho huge salt lakes then heading over a small pass to reach Bhramputra River or Yalung Tsangpo after crossing the river on a bridge we reach at Saga town, a growing moderate size town located on route Mt. Kailash and Shigatse / Lhasa.
Day 05: Saga to Paryang (4558m) to Mansarovar (4600m) 507 km, 8-9 hours
We continue our drive to Manasarovar via Paryang. Enjoying the beautiful mountains we pass through the small town of Zhongba before Paryang which offers the first view of Mt. Kailash and Lake Manasarovar. As you approach this serene and sacred lake, historic Chiu Monastery becomes visible on the North West shore of the lake. From this vantage point, you can have a glimpse of majestic Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar. Overnight at hotel.
Day 06: Manasarovar to Darchen (14974ft) 40 km
After the mesmerizing view of sacred Lake Manasarovar we drive 40 km to Darchen which serves as the base for Mount Kailash Kora (parikrama). The kora is 56 km in total and take about 2 and half days for completion. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 07: Trek to Dirapuk (5120m) 5-6 hrs
On the seventh day of Mt. Kailash With Guge Kingdom Via Kerung Border, we begin our Kora of Mt. Kailash. The first day out of Darchen involves a six-hour hike in a deep valley through walls of red rock. We continue across the plain to Shershong. We further cross a bridge leading to Chhuku Gompa which is high on the hill visible from the valley. The trail leads to Dirapuk from where we will have a stunning view of the north face of Mt. Kailash. Overnight in Dirapuk.
Day 08: Trek to Zutulpuk (4790m) 18 km, 6-7 hrs
Today will be the most difficult section of our journey. We climb Drolma-la Pass at 5,750m/19,910ft. The pass whose name literally means the pass of Tara is beautiful and is filled with five-colored praying flags. From Drolma-la Pass, we descend to Zutulpuk where we come across the incredible Thugje Zinbu (Lake of Compassion) and a few ancient meditative caves. Overnight in Zutulpuk.
Day 09: Trek near Darchen and drive to Tirthapuri (4840m) 4 hrs
Last day of holy walk ‘kora’ or parikrama, starts with an easy walk of three hours on a wide plain passing by mani walls, then entering a narrow valley and a gorge as the route leads west of Darchen, the last walk makes a dramatic exits from river valley to a plain, walk passes mani walls decorated with carved yak skulls. A short walk to Darchen terminates the trek, from here drive further west to reach a barren and desolate areas at Tirthapuri located within eroded high red cliffs and canyon. Overnight at Tirthapuri.
Day 10: Drive to Toling (4700m) 5 hrs
Today we drive further west to reach Toling which is a small growing countery town joining the road to Lhasa-Taklakot and Ali towns, drive leads on the Ali Highway which is the end of Tibet border joining with east mainland of China and Pakistan border and close to India’s Kashmir Ladakh. We go for a short walk around the white and red temples. Overnight at Toling.
Day 11: Explore Toling with Tsaparang and Guge ruin Kingdom
Enjoying Mt. Kailash With Guge Kingdom Via Kerung Border, at morning after breakfast a short drive to Tsaparang and visit Guge Kingdom with view of Sutlej valley. Toling and Tsaparang, was earlier royal cities of the Kingdom of Guge located in a spectacular canyon within Sutlej River. Guge ruin Kingdom offers impressive amazing murals in the palace and the monasteries which are perched on a hilltop in a bizarre and strange landscape.
Day 12: Drive to Darchen 6 hrs
Today we drive a long and interesting drive towards east passing through many farm villages and nomads camps and might encounter some wild animal like Tibetan Antelopes and finally reach at Darchen. Overnight at Darchen.
Day 13: Drive to Dzongba 6 hrs
From this busy pilgrims town our overland journey leads towards Myam-la pass to enter a back into a wide valley to reach a new town at Dzongba. Overnight at Dzongba.
Day 14: Drive to Kerung 6 hrs
Morning drive leads on the same route heading due south towards Kyirong County driving past Saga town and at the end of vast dry windswept Tibetan plateau following the road to Kyirong. Overnight at Kyriong.
Day 15: Drive to Dhunche (1,950m) 6 hrs
Today we drive for the Dhunche through the Rasuwagadhi completing immigration and custom formalities on the both sides of Nepal and Tibet at Rashuwagadhi. Overnight at Dhunche.
Day 16: Drive to Kathmandu 6 hrs
Your Mt. Kailash With Guge Kingdom Via Kerung Border terminates today. Finally we drive back to the Kathmandu enjoying the green vegetation with alpine tall trees, and the spectacular sight of Ganesh and Langtang mountains.
